The challenge
There was little leadership development to support leaders to have meaningful conversations with teams, with an archaic PDR system which was seen as a tick-box exercise with no real outputs. Therefore it was difficult to do purposeful succession planning.
Our approach
We trained all line managers and senior partners in our Delve Talent Tool so they were able to have structured talent conversations with their teams in addition to redesigning their appraisal process.
The result
With the talent maps produced as a result of the conversations taking place, HSW were able to make data led decisions about how to invest learning and development budgets and aid succession planning. They also managed to increase retention as people reported feeling more valued and more likely to stay in the organisation.
